Apprenticeships

Contracts vary by subject area and schemes can range between 12 months to 5 years.

Locations: Manchester, East Midlands and London Stansted Airports.

Who can apply? You must be at least 16 years old.

Graduate Schemes

Contract: Full time, permanent

Locations: Manchester, East Midlands and London Stansted Airports, with a requirement to travel to across the group.

Who can apply? Graduates within the last 3 years.

MAG offers several apprenticeships which can include Engineering, Fire, Sustainability, Data, Cyber Security and Construction – all giving you real industry experience, building your professional network and developing your career within a fast‑growing aviation business.

Firefighter

Aviation Firefighter Apprentice

Experience the hands-on opportunity in learning how to respond to emergency situations, using regulations and procedures to protect both life and property at the airport. You’ll be a proactive team player and take responsibility for personal and team compliance with health and safety policies, using a wealth of knowledge about the airport facilities to assist passengers.

As well as physical duties, you must promote a safe working environment and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external bodies to uphold a professional image of the airport.

Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability Apprentice

Drive social and environmental change for our airports to make a real difference. You’ll have the opportunity to engage with local communities, monitor environmental performance, and support in data collection to report on a range of topics.

We’ll need you to understand corporate responsibility and sustainability, so you can demonstrate this passion as you collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders. Develop yourself as a professional in a supportive environment, allowing you to progress wherever you’d like to go.

Capital Delivery

MAG is undergoing multiple transformation projects as part of significant growth – and we have no plans to slow down. A Capital Delivery graduate is central to our mission to build the world’s most intelligent airports. You’ll be involved in the safe and successful delivery of Capital Delivery Projects across our airport portfolio, developing projects from initial exploration through to final handover.

You’ll need exceptional organisational skills and the confidence to engage with stakeholders at all levels within the business. You’ll engage with a wide range of internal teams and external stakeholders, so your communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships is a must. Data

With several significant growth programmes already underway, we’re radically transforming our technology landscape, creating excellent opportunities for learning & development. You’ll need to be a critical and creative thinker to identify business intelligence requirements and see how complex data can be used to drive business performance, as well as an understanding of data governance, data security, and delivery methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall.

Dev Ops

With huge ambitions for our airports at MAG, we’re undergoing a radical transformation of our technology landscape, and our DevOps graduates provide the creativity and resourcefulness to help us succeed.

At its core, the DevOps function will support revenue growth and improved operations of our three airports; you’ll learn, maintain, upgrade and manage our software and various environments, following a fail-fast, fix-forward approach to software development that will deliver quick-to-market solutions. You’ll need to be a quick thinker, a natural problem-solver, and comfortable communicating ideas to interdisciplinary teams.

Finance

Jump into the complexities of finance in all its forms during our graduate scheme whilst working towards a formal CIMA certification. You’ll build partnerships between finance and operations, be proactive in finding solutions, and help drive our business forward.

This scheme is ideal for an excellent communicator with great analytical skills and a thirst for knowledge. Ensuring that our business partnerships remain strong is at the core of this scheme, drawing on strengths such as flair and intellect.
